National Diabetes Awareness Month

  • November is National Diabetes Awareness Month.
  • Of the 34.2 million adults with diabetes, 26.8 million were diagnosed, and 7.3 million were undiagnosed.
  • Diabetes puts people at risk for nerve damage, cardiovascular disease, foot and limb injuries, vision problems, and other complications that arise from having uncontrolled blood sugar.
  • If you need help managing diabetes, talk to your primary care provider. And if you don’t have a primary care provider, make sure you get established with a provider at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Click here for more information.
