Donald L. Neeley, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 13, 1956 in Flora, Illinois, the son of Donald L. Neeley, Sr. and Myrtle Pauline (Kelm) Neeley. He married Tina Anderson on July 27, 1979, and she survives.

Don served his country in the United States Army. He was an operator, pump house gauger, and subforeman for Marathon Oil Company in Robinson. Prior to transferring to the Robinson Refinery, he was an operator at the Bridgeport Water Plant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. He volunteered at the Sign of the Kingdom and did janitorial work at the church. His hobbies included golfing, mowing the yard, traveling on bus trips, as well as attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and taking them to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Joyce Darlene Neeley.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; two daughters, Megan Taylor and husband, Jerrod of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Morgan Stricklin and husband, Robert of Greenfield, Indiana; one sister, Mary Jane Flexter and husband, Jim of Flora, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Harlan Taylor, Lewis Taylor, Ivy Taylor, and Brody Stricklin.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Portee Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville or Good Samaritan Hospice.
