Longtime Second Circuit Court reporter Traci Ackman has retired. She stepped down on March 1st after 36 years of service. Ackman is a native of Robinson and graduated from SIU Carbondale. Her career as a court reporter began in October of 1986. Second Circuit Chief Justice Mellissa Morgan recently issued a statement recognizing Ackman for her years serving the court system and praising her dedication, integrity and professionalism. The Second Circuit is comprised of 12 counties in southeastern Illinois including Lawrence, Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Richland, Wabash, Wayne and White.
