NWS RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS

The National Weather Service has issued Flood Warnings for both the Embarras River at Lawrenceville and the Wabash River at Vincennes. The warnings were issued Friday after extensive rainfall over the past 24 to 48 hours across the upper basins of both rivers in Illinois and Indiana. The river at Lawrenceville was at 30.27 feet Saturday morning-just above the 30 foot flood stage. It was expected to crest Sunday evening at 34 feet before beginning a slow fall to below flood Thursday. The Wabash at Vincennes was at 15.5 feet Saturday morning-just below the 16 foot flood stage. It was expected to rise above flood stage Saturday night before cresting at 17.6 feet late Sunday.
