VINCENNES MAN ARRESTED

The Indiana State Police have announced the early Friday morning arrest of a Vincennes man on multiple drug charges. Around 1:50 a.m. ET, a trooper made a stop on a vehicle in an alley south of 14th and Nicholas Streets in Vincennes when a male front seat passenger opened the door and fled on foot. He was later apprehended and identified as 47 year old Jimmy Eaton of Vincennes. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital after alledgedly swallowing a bag of methamphetamine while running. He was treated and released into police custody. A hollowed-out book that Eaton had inside the vehicle was discovered to contain suspected meth, empty baggies, scales, syringes and a pill. Eaton has been preliminarily charged with Possession of Meth and Dealing in Meth, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting Law Enforcement. He was being held pending bond in the Knox County Jail. The driver of the vehicle involved was cited for Driving Without a License and released.
