WINTER STORM WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire WAKO listening area from 9 p.m. CST Tuesday until 6 p.m. CST Wednesday. The storm will begin as rain and then turn into a rain/snow mix before transitioning to all snow. Heavy snow is being forecast for the region with total accumulations anywhere from 4 to 7 inches depending on your location. Heavier snow amounts are forecast for areas north of Interstate 70. Those traveling late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning should plan on hazardous road conditions. Those traveling need to be prepared for a potential emergency with a safety kit featuring a flashlight, food and water and extra clothing and blankets.
