Peggy Jeanette Kull, age 86, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky. She was born on October 26, 1936 in St. Francisville, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond J. and Bernice (Schroyer) Hensley. She married Alten L. Kull on June 12, 1955, and he preceded her in death on August 05, 2018.
Peggy was a homemaker and a leader of Camp Fire Girls. Her memberships included Garden Club and the First Presbyterian Church, where she helped with Sunday School. She was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed seasonal decorating throughout the year, antiquing, reading, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and vacationing with Alten. She was a 1954 graduate of Lawrenceville High School, and she always looked forward to planning her class reunions and reconnecting with her classmates.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one brother, Dennis Hensley; and two sisters, Eva June Audiss and Joan Shaw.
Survivors include one son, Roger J. Kull and wife, Carla, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three daughters, Julia A. Castro and husband, Manny, of Savanna, Illinois, Jeanne K. Jerrell and husband, Rick, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Rebecca J. Ochs and husband, Kevin, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Rita Hensley of Centennial, Colorado and Janet Kull Gravitt of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Sara DeSpain, Lucas DeSpain and wife, Rachael, Ryan Kull and wife, Jerren, Jordan Kull, Madison Bobe and husband, Cody, Maizie Organ, Anthony Jerrell, and Kasen Ochs; four great-grandchildren, Maya DeSpain, Sophia DeSpain, Penelope Purdom, and Poppie Bobe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM CST at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 809 12th Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CST at the church. The family requests that masks be worn. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe, or the East Lawrence Academic Foundation.
