Sandra Kaye Conover, age 75 of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at AperionCare of Bridgeport. She was born August 22, 1947, in Bridgeport to Donald Boatman and his wife Dorothy (Lewis) Conover.
On April 23, 1966, Sandra married Samuel Conover. They shared 56 years of marriage and shared many memorable moments.
Sandra graduated from Bridgeport Township High School, was a homemaker to her family, worked as a cook at local restaurants, and also worked at the Southwest Juvenile Detention Center in Vincennes, IN for 14 years (1995-2009).
She enjoyed going to yard sales along with her husband, loved her cat “Babydoll”, and relished any time she got with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Surviving family includes: her husband of 56 years- Sam Conover of Bridgeport: two children- Amanda Lockhart and husband James III of Bridgeport and Jason Conover of Vincennes, IN: two sisters- Sharon Piper of Lawrenceville and Diana Allen and husband Tim of Olney: six grandchildren- Anthony Conover, Kayla Gardner, Haley Kennedy, Jeremy Gillespie, James Lockhart IV, and Holden Lockhart: and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Scott Conover and Samuel Conover, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m. at May Chapel Cemetery.
