Dewey Ray Eagleson, Sr.

Dewey Ray Eagleson, Sr., age 89, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on June 30, 1933 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Bertha (Hampton) Eagleson. He married Ruby Pauline Winters on April 16, 1958, and she survives.

Dewey served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He worked for CFS Fertilizer for 23 years and was truck driver for the Lawrenceville Daily Record for ten years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; two sisters; and one son-in-law, Roger Sechrest.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Charlotte Sechrest and Dewey R. Eagleson, Jr. and special friend, Mary Thomas all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Earl Eagleson of Olney, Illinois; one sister, Doris Ross of Indianapolis, Indiana; one grandson, David Sechrest and special friend, Barbara Blann of Arlington, Virginia; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Sechrest of Manchester, Connecticut.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery with military rites.
