ONE KILLED IN CRAWFORD COUNTY ACCIDENT

More details have been released regarding the early Thursday morning accident in neighboring Crawford County in which one man was killed and a woman injured. According to the Crawford County Sheriffs Department, at around 3 a.m. CT, 48 year old Bryan Hager and 35 year old Bethany Stine both of rural Flat Rock were both walking in the road on Illinois Route 33 near a county road intersection south of the town of Heathsville. Both were struck by a semi-truck whose driver was Christopher Russell of Washington Indiana. Hager was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner while Stine was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Russell was not injured. Authorities did have to close the section of Route 33 where the fatal mishap occurred for close to 9 hours to allow for accident reconstruction and continuing investigation by the Illinois State Police, Crawford County Sheriffs Department and the Crawford County Coroners Office.
