The Bi-State Authority, which governs the Mid-American Air Center located northeast of Lawrenceville, met in regular session Tuesday evening at the airport terminal board room. Among the issues discussed was the pending ODALS (approach lights) project. Airport manager Kurt Schwartz told WAKO News that the cost analysis have been submitted to the state of Illinois and it is hoped that approval will be given before spring. Schwartz also indicated that the airport is developing a plan to publicize the availability of some of the vacant airport properties for business development or other uses. Among those are the Kaufmann Industries location and the National Guard lot. Some work has already begun in that area and will continue.
