Mary Lora Mitchell-Davis

Mrs. Mary Lora Mitchell-Davis, age 89 of Palestine, IL passed away on Saturday October 1, 2022, at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehab in Oblong, IL following many months of failing health.

Born July 28, 1933, in Robinson, IL, Mary was the daughter of Robert and Louetta (Needs) Busby. On November 9, 1951, she married John William Mitchell, and he preceded her in death November 19, 1987. In July of 1992, Mary married Mr. Lloyd Davis and he preceded her in death as well.

Mary was a homemaker and mother to her four children; she worked at Crawford Electronics, Robinson, IL and then later at Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens; and lastly as an associate with Walmart in Robinson, IL. Mary was a member of the Kirk Chapel United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Kathy Mitchell, Effingham, IL, Rusty and Brenda Mitchell, Hartford City, IN, Warren Mitchell, Palestine, IL and a daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Mike Earleywine, Hutsonville, IL. Other survivors are a brother, Randal Melton, Robinson, IL; nine grandchildren, Chad Earleywine, Terri Earleywine, Ryan and Stephanie Mitchell, Jonathan and Nina Mitchell, Michelle and Dan Neuhauser, Lindsay and Billy Parson, Justin and Amanda Mitchell, Haley and Jourdyn Wiseman and Tyler Mitchell; twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are two nephews, David Anderson and Don Anderson and a very special family friend whom she loved like a daughter, Dana Wells, Annapolis, IL.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louetta (Needs) Busby and two husbands, John William Mitchell and Lloyd Davis.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Jim Conlin officiating. Visitation will be Saturday October 8, 2022, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Newlin Cemetery, rural Robinson, IL.
