The Lawrence Unit #20 Board of Education met in regular monthly session Wednesday at Lawrenceville High School. Upon recommendation of Superintendent Doug Daugherty, they did approve a 2 year contract with the East Lawrence Education Association (ELEA). The deal increases pay 5.89% for both years and also includes raises in insurance coverage. Daugherty indicated that the union had ratified the deal. The board also approved the adoption of a tenative 2022-23 budget and placed it on file for public display for one month. The spending plan is expected to be formally approved after a public hearing on Wednesday September 21st. Also approved were adjustments to student fees dealing with the cost of milk in the district.
