The Bi-State Authority which governs the Mid-American Air center located northeast of Lawrenceville met Tuesday evening in the airport terminal board room. Among the issues discussed were the potential costs to the airport for it’s part of the 18/36 runway project. The cost of the project has escalated to $3.5 million dollars and still has yet to be rebid and awarded. The airport is changing it’s brand of aviation fuel to Titan in order to realize some savings to local and area pilots. Also discussed was the ongoing search for a potential tenant for the vacant Kaufman Industries factory building on the airport grounds with additional plans to continue to advertise the property, which has been repainted and upgraded.
