It was not a good weekend on the area highways and byways. Three people were killed in three separate accidents up in Clark and Edgar Counties. 16 year old Brody Sanders of Paris Ill died early Saturday in a single vehicle accident in that city when he was ejected from an SUV that hit a fire hydrant. One other teen was injured and hospitalized. Two semi-trucks collided early Saturday on Interstate 70 in Clark County with 60 year old Clyde Lawson of St Louis, Mo pronounced dead after his semi overturned into the median and caught fire. The other truckdriver was uninjured. And Sunday afternoon, an unidentified 50 year old female from Indianapolis, Ind died when the vehicle she was driving struck a van that turned in front of her on Illinois Route 1 also in Clark County. The other driver from Marshall Ill was injured and hospitalized.
