The 2022 Lawrence County Junior Fair continued Thursday at the fairgrounds located on US 50 between Bridgeport and Sumner. The annual Youth Livestock Market Auction took place at the livestock barns and was a success. The auction allows 4-H members who raise animals to sell to local bidders who in turn donated the animal back enabling the youth who raised it to make money and invest in raising other animals. The auction numbers this year were lower due to the state ban on poultry showing, but the Lawrence County Youth Livestock Association, which sponsors the auction, says that over $75,000 were raised with the continued support of local businesses.
