Reports were positive as the refurbished Red Hill Raceway officially reopened Tuesday night at it’s location 1 1/2 miles south of Sumner in western Lawrence County. A large crowd was on hand for action in the DIRTcar Summer Nationals “Hell Tour.” Tyler Erb from New Waverly Texas captured the 30 lap feature race and claimed a $5000 prize. The schedule for racing at the track in the future is still being finalized. New owner Jeremy Sneed of Sneed Motorsports LLC has indicated plans to host the Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) and the Midwest Mini Sprint Association (MMSA) sometime in the late summer or fall.
