Michael Chavis hit a game tying homer in the bottom of the 8th, threw out a runner at the plate and then blooped a walkoff single into right field in the bottom of the 10th to rally the Pittsburgh Pirates to an 8-7 extra inning win Thursday afternoon over the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The win enabled the host Pirates to win three of four in the series. The Cubs will try and pick themselves up Friday night in St Louis when they open a three game weekend set with the Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
