5 SENTENCED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY COURT

Lawrence County States Attorney Michael Strange reported that 5 people were sentenced during proceedings this week in Lawrence County Circuit Court (LCCC). Keith McKinney was resentenced to 35 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). He had been found guilty of Attempted First Degree Murder after a jury trial back in 2017 and given the sentence then. He later filed an appeal, but the Appellate Court confirmed the conviction but did remand the case back to LCCC for resentencing which occurred Wednesday. 40 year old Brent Wiseman of Robinson and 21 year old Nicholas Rutledge of Lawrenceville were each sentenced to 2 1/2 years for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. 24 year old Cyann Mitchell of Lawrenceville was given 3 years with 1 year of mandatory supervised release for Burglary, a Class 2 Illinois Felony and 32 year old Amanda Dreiman of Lawrenceville was sentenced to 2 years in the IDOC for Possession of the Credit Card of Another, a Class 4 Illinois Felony.  Wiseman, Rutledge, Kitchell and Dreiman were all ordered to pay all previous fines and assessments.
