EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING EXTENDED

The National Weather Service has extended the Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday at 8 p.m. CDT for the WAKO listening area. While the heat wave is waning a bit, Thursday will another day of dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 115 degrees across the region. People who are outside for an extended period of time are again asked to use caution and drink plenty of fluids especially water and avoid prolonged  exposure to the direct sunlight. People should also recognize the signs and symptoms of  heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
