The Vincennes City Council met Monday evening at City Hall and passed on first reading a tax rebate to be received by customers of the Vincennes Water Utilities in bills in the future. The rebate amount is due to a state mandate passed by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in March that the amount of a little over $3.00 be given to the customers along with an explanation why. It is anticipated that the council will pass the matter at it’s next session on Monday June 27th
