Effingham and other southeastern Illinois law enforcement authorities remain on the lookout for the suspect in a Wednesday morning financial institution robbery.  Reports indicate that a white male entered the Land of Lincoln Credit Union located on Keller Avenue around 9:45 a.m. CT. He produced a note asking for money and indicating that he was armed, though no weapon was brandished. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and then fled on foot. No one was hurt in the robbery. The credit union location had just open this week. It was the second recent robbery in the city. An Effingham bank was robbed on April 1st. The Indianapolis Indiana man charged with that robbery was captured a short time later in Terre Haute and is currently being held for trial.
