The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports that there have been 3,286,377 cases of coronavirus across the state with 33,805 deaths total since the pandemic began. The latest Lawrence County Health Department statistics show that last week between Monday May 23rd and Friday May 27th, there were 10 reported cases of COVID-19. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 15 Illinois counties are now rated at the High Community Level for spread of the disease. Those are located in the Chicago and Cook County areas of northeastern Illinois and around the city of Peoria. There are now 30 counties rated at Medium Community Level for Spread. Over 22.3 million vaccinations have now been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. 69% of the total Illinois population has now been fully vaccinated while 38% of the total Lawrence County population is now fully vaccinated.
