Clyde S. Putnam, Jr.

Clyde S. Putnam, Jr., age 88, of Jackson, Tennessee, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born on August 02, 1933 in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Clyde S. Putnam, Sr. and Ella (Green) Miller. He married Nancy Fielden on August 24, 1956, and she survives.

Clyde was a graduate of James Millikin University, and an accountant with Putnam Financial Services. His memberships included the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, American Legion, and Elks. He regularly donated blood to the American Red Cross. His hobbies included golfing and fishing. He served his country in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Kirk Wilson Putnam.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Jennifer Lee Irvine and husband, Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, Julia Ann Wagner and husband, David of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kyle Wade Putnam of Jackson, Tennessee; one sister, Georgia Susan Kelm of Jackson, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 04, 2022 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
