The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville from Saturday night through Tuesday. The river was still below flood stage Saturday morning at 26.8 feet, but with rainfall in the upper river basin occurring earlier this week and additional heavy rains expected this weekend, it is expected to rapidly rise above it’s 30 foot flood stage sometime Sunday with a crest forecast for 31.5 feet on Monday. Some minor flooding of areas along the river is anticipated.
