Rebecca Jean Wells, age 51, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 01, 2022 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on May 26, 1970 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Everett Benton and Rita June (Richardson) Brown. She married George Edward Wells on June 20, 1992, and he survives.

Becky graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes in 1988 and graduated from Vincennes University in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She was a claims adjuster with United Health Care. Her memberships included the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose.

Preceding her in death was her father, Everett Brown; father-in-law, Lyman Lee Wells; and mother-in-law, JoAnn (Akers) Wells.

Survivors include her husband, George; mother, Rita Brown of Vincennes, Indiana; two sisters, Michelle Nelms and husband, Roger of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Billie Brown and wife, Brie Brannick of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers-in-law, Steve Wells and wife, Sharon of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Ronnie Wells and wife, Connie of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Donnie Wells and wife, Tina of Vincennes, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Wells and husband, Paul Henry of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four nephews, R.J. Nelms of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Nick Routien and wife, Rosa of Olney, Illinois, Levi Wells and wife, Theresa of Ohio, and Jesse Wells and wife, Jessica of Vincennes, Indiana; three nieces, Ashlae’ Long and husband, Brian of Columbia, Tennessee, Megan Layfield and husband, Rusty of Ohio, and Melissa Mobley of Lawrenceville, Illinois; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 5:00 PM CDT at the American Legion in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe.
