The Lawrenceville Police Department have completed their investigations into 2 recent personal injury accidents. The first occurred Sunday just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of 12th and Lexington. A 2003 Ford Expedition being driven by Cornelius Hightower of Lawrenceville entered the intersection and struck a 2010 Chrysler being driven by Tiffany Couch of Lawrenceville. Couch and two passengers were hurt but refused medical treatment at the scene. Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene. Hightower fled the accident scene on foot but was later located. He has been charged with Driving while License Suspended, Disobeying a Stop Sign, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Injury and Vehicle Damage. The second happened Monday at 3:50 p.m. at 1903 State Street near 20th. A 2017 Nissan being driven by Charlotte Sechrest of Lawrenceville was heading south on 20th Street and collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro whose driver was Mason Reese of Lawrenceville as he was backing from a residential driveway. Reese was injured and was taken to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital by private vehicle while Sechrest was uninjured. Both vehicles suffered enough damages that they were towed from the scene. Authorities indicate there were no citations involved.
