The Bridgeport City Council met in regular session Tuesday night at City Hall. They approved the annual Appropriations Ordinance for Fiscal Year 2022-23 governing the city budget. Mayor Tyler Griffin says that the fiscal spending plan does include additional monies for improvements at Lanterman Park. The council did approve the acceptance of bids on three of four surplus property items advertised by the city. Police Chief Danny Ash informed the council about plans for the potential development of a police department pistol range for use by officers and for renovations of the police department offices inside City Hall. Mayor Griffin also indicated that no firm date has yet been set for the annual city wide cleanup as discussion continue to try and lock down a time. The date will be advertised once it is agreed upon.
