The National Weather Service says there is the distinct possibility of severe weather for the WAKO listening area Saturday, especially in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of an advancing cold front Saturday afternoon. Some of those storms could be capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 m.p.h., quarter-sized hail and the potential to produce tornadoes. No watches or warnings have been issued as of Saturday morning, but local and area residents are advised to be aware of and remain alert for any changing weather conditions.
