Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has issued his departmental monthly activity report for March. During the month, police recieved 325 requests for an officer. They were involved in 12 drug investigations, 8 theft investigations, 5 burglary investigations, 4 cases of theft were looked into along with 3 cases each of assault and battery and vandalism, 4 cases of child abuse and neglect and a case of a missing person. Lawrenceville police made 21 misdeameanor, 16 felony and 1 juvenile arrest during the month along with issuing 4 ordinance violations. There were 13 traffic accidents investigated in March-12 of those involved property damage and there was a single case of hit and run. The department did lend assistance to the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and the Illinois State Police 4 time during the month and also assisted emergency fire and medical personnel 6 times.
