The Bridgeport City Council met Tuesday evening in regular session at City hall and dealt with a number of matters. They approved an ordinance authorizing the sale by bid of surplus city property. Bids will be opened on that advertised property on Friday May 6th at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall. A move was made to accept a bid for graphics work to be done on the city police vehicles. It was also moved for the installation of safety lights on city trucks. City Superintendent Shannon Selby reported that recent well field repairs had been completed and that the city had received a positive inspection report on it’s water tower. The council entered into executive session for about 1/2 hour to deal with personnel and emerged to approve paying the $1.00 differential in regard to the state mimimum wage and a 5% across the board raise for city employees.
