The Wabash County Sheriffs Department reports that a Lawrence County woman was cited after a traffic stop late last week. Reports indicate that Friday evening, a 2009 Ford passenger vehicle being driven by 66 year old Judy Royse of Sumner was stopped for having suspended registration. The deputy detected the smell of raw cannabis coming from the vehicle and initiated a vehicle search. Royse was found to have over 30 grams of cannabis located inside the vehicle. She was taken into custody and taken to the Wabash County Jail in Mt Carmel and was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Vehicle, Driving with a Suspended Registration and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana over 30 grams but under 100, a Class A Illinois Misdeameanor. Royse was later released with a Notice to Appear in Court.
