The National Weather Service says high levels will continue for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville through the upcoming weekend. The Flood Warning has been extended through Saturday. The river Thursday morning was at 29.44 feet-just below the 30 foot flood level. It is forecast to continue to rise above flood stage late Thursday and crest at around 30.5 feet Friday before beginning to fall. Some minor flooding is expected in the Lawrenceville area.
