Illinois State Police say that a southeastern Illinois man has now been charged in connection with the death of a Clay County woman late last year. In November of 2021, the ISP Division of Criminal Investigation was called in to conduct an investigation into the death of 54 year old Stephanie Harrell of Flora. Her body was discovered deceased in her vehicle parked in an agricultural field entrance north of U.S. 50 in Clay County. Wednesday, it was announced that 52 year old Phillip Hensen of Flora was charged with Drug Induced Homicide, a Class X Illinois felony in connection with the death. Hensen is currently in custody in the Vanderburgh County Jail in Evansville Indiana with a bond of $1 million. No other information regarding the case is being released at this time.
