The city of Lawrenceville has received notification of $537,000 in State Transportation Urban (STU) funding that will be used for upgrades to Lexington Avenue. Mayor David Courtney indicated in a news release that the city is limited in it’s use of the money, but anticipates curbs, sidewalks, storm sewers and catch basins will be upgraded. The city has brought in the Mt Carmel engineering fire, HLR as a consultant on the project. Once they make a recommendation on the scope of the work, the project will go out for bid. It is anticipated that if all goes well, work could begin in the summer of 2024. The Lawrenceville City Council is scheduled to meet this Thursday, March 10th at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
