The filing period starts Monday March 7th for any local Lawrence County and Illinois state candidates running in the upcoming 2022 election. Anyone with questions can contact the Lawrence County Clerks Office during their regular business hours at the courthouse. Lawrence County voters should also have received recently a new voter ID card. The new cards were necessary due to redistricting that took place after the 2020 Census. If one was not received, contact the County Clerks Office. The primary election in Illinois is Tuesday June 28th and the general election date is Tuesday November 8th.
