Scotty Ray Carie, age 73, of St. Francisville, IL, passed away at his home in St. Francisville after battling cancer on Tuesday, March 2, 2022. He was born in Vincennes, IN on December 12, 1948 to Ray Allen Carie and Margaret (Condiff) Carie.

On July 17, 1971, Scotty married Monica Litherland at the Litherland’s home in St. Francisville.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in the oil field for years until he went to work as a boilermaker for Jole. Scotty was a member of the American Legion in St. Francisville.

Surviving family includes: his wife- Monica Carie of St. Francisville: four children- Scotty Carie, Christopher Carie, Tammy Horton, and Sara Carie all of Lawrenceville: five grandchildren- Tiffany Horton, Jacob Horton, Journey Gillihan, Donovan Gillihan, and Dawson Gillihan: three sisters- Ellen Tewell, Annette Moore, and Frankie Spore: and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his patents- Ray Carie and Marge Carie: two brothers- Harold and Charles Carie: and one granddaughter- Tia Marie Horton.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Oaklawn Cemetery. Military rites will be given at the cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home is assisting the family during their time of loss.
