The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,979 cases of coronavirus across the state Friday with 63 new deaths. There were only 3 positive cases reported Friday in Lawrence County and only 4 positive cases in Knox County Indiana. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 3,026,737 cases of the disease with 32,654 deaths. A total of 21,070,546 vaccinations have now been administered at sites across Illinois. Of Illinois total population, more than 67% is now fully vaccinated according to the IDPH. 37.80% of the total Lawrence County population is now fully vaccinated. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) Friday announced it was dropping it’s guidance for universal indoor masking and the state of Illinois will officially drop it’s indoor mask mandate Monday.
