The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,734 new cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with only 8 deaths. There were 25 positive cases Monday in Lawrence County according to the health department with 13 of those related to a local outbreak. There were only 15 positive cases Monday in Knox County Indiana. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 3,001,771 cases of the disease with 32,019 deaths statewide. A total of 20,894,572 vaccinations have been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with over 4 million booster doses given. According to the latest IDPH figures, 37.44% of the total Lawrence County population is now fully vaccinated.
