Mary Ann Brashear, 87, of Martinsville, formerly of Lawrence County, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, with family at bedside. She was born on September 2, 1934, in St. Francisville, IL, the daughter of Homer G. Pinnick and Alma Bledsoe Pinnick. Mary wed John Albert Brashear on July 13, 1979. John preceded her in death.
Survivors include her brother, John Pinnick, Bridgeport; daughters, Terri Pfeifer, Oblong, Cynthia Martin, Siloam Springs, AR, Lysa (Gary) Poettker, Martinsville; sons, Kelly (Cheryl) Hall, Lawrenceville, Mike Hall, Johnson City, TN, Kevin (Gloria) Hall, Lawrenceville and Ted (China) Hall, Safford, AZ; stepdaughters, Judy (Jerry) Thom, Jasper, IN, Janice Hernandez, Brownsville, TX, Joan (Reed) Ellmer, Upatoi, GA; stepsons, John (Cindy) Brashear, Lawrenceville, Joseph (Donna) Brashear, Katy, TX, and Jeff (Gail) Brashear, Mansfield, TX; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Homer “Jack” Pinnick; sisters Norma Wilson, Helen Seitzinger, Janet Broussard, and Kay Griesemer; stepdaughter Joyce McCarty; and sons-in-law, Medwick Pfeifer and Hector Hernandez.
Mary was a member of Bee Branch Community Church, rural Lawrenceville. She worked as an LPN at Richland Memorial Hospital, then in the laboratory at Texaco. When Texaco closed, Mary went back into the nursing field. Mary was an avid animal lover, even owning a pet store and kennel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games, a favorite being UNO.
Private funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7, 10:00 A.M. at Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 6, 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Glasser Funeral Home, Bridgeport
