David Phillip Selby 84 of Lawrenceville passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport,
He was born on February 3, 1937 at home in Lawrence County to Pheriba Ellen (McBride) and William Jennings Brian Selby.
David married Doris Ann (Seed) on April 27, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville and she survives.
He proudly served his Country by serving over 5 years in the United States Navy.
David worked at the Marathon Oil Company as a Driller and retired after 30 years of dedication and service.
He was a lifelong and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville.
David is survived by his wife Doris of Lawrenceville, 1 daughter Phyllis Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Jennings Selby and wife Pam of Lawrenceville, 2 grandsons Galen P. Murphy of Michigan, Jared Paddick of Cincinnati, Ohio, 1 granddaughter Stevi Maus and husband Dusty of Oblong, and 1 great-granddaughter Anna Paddick, 3 great-grandsons Greyson Holscher, Miles Holscher and Nolan Holscher .
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Mary Benson, 3 brothers Robert Selby, Porter Selby, Marion Selby, 1 daughter Brenda Murphy and 1 infant son Phillip David Selby.
The Graveside Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery with Military Rites.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi, Illinois.
