The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 9,462 new cases of coronavirus with 81 new deaths across the state Monday. The Lawrence County Health Department indicated 84 positive cases Monday with 5 of those resulting from a local outbreak. Overall since the pandemic began, there have now been 2,837,861 cases of the disease with 30,155 deaths statewide. A total of 20,305,950 vaccinations have now been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with over 3.7 million booster doses given. The IDPH numbers say that the vaccination rates here in Lawrence County are inching up. 37.90% of the total population is now fully vaccinated with now over 42% having received at least one dose. There have been 2,240 booster shots given.
