The Lawrence County Health Department is planning a major move in the future. Administrator Amy Marley reported to the Lawrence County Board Wednesday that they are currently working to purchase the former United Methodist Village (North Campus) property located at 2101 James Street in Lawrenceville. Marley told the board that a need for additional space for the expansion of staff and services at their main office and the desire to have one central location in Lawrenceville instead of the current four various facilities are main reasons for the desire to relocate from the current site on Country Club Road on US 50 west of Lawrenceville. Marley indicated that they hope to acquire the location with 90 days and if all goes well, the move could be completed in a year. The county board did voice it’s support of the move.
