71 young women from across Illinois will be competing this weekend for the title of 2022 Miss Illinois County Fair Queen in Springfield. The annual pageant will be part of the annual convention of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs. Registration is Thursday with rehearsals Friday and Saturday morning. Preliminaries will be Saturday afternoon and night and the pageant finals and crowning of the new queen Sunday night. Among those vying for the crown will be Miss Lawrence County Layni Andrews. The new queen will reign over the Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs and represent the state at various agricultural events and county fairs around the state.
