Incumbent Republican Congressman Mike Bost of Murphysboro has announced that he will seek reelection to another term in the newly redrawn Illinois 12th Congressional District. Bost is from Murphysboro and was elected to the U.S. House in 2015. The new 12th district now stretches across the southern third of Illinois and does now include Lawrence County. Other surrounding counties also in the district are Clark, Coles, Effingham, Cumberland, Crawford, Jasper, Richland, Clay, Marion, Wayne, Wabash, White and other counties south. Bost is currently running unopposed. The primary election is coming up on June 28th.
