Late last week, 40 year old Ray Tate Jr of Hopkinsville Kentucky appeared via Zoom in Wayne County Circuit Court from the Clinton County Ill Jail and was formally charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death last week of Wayne County Sheriffs Deputy Sean Riley. During the proceeding, Tate was assigned a public defender and a preliminary hearing date was set for Tuesday January 25th at 1 p.m. Bond was set at $5 million dollars. Meanwhile, funeral services for Deputy Riley have been announced. Visitation will be Monday January 3rd from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Fairfield High School Gymnasium with first responder walkthrough at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday January 4th at 11 a.m. also in the gym with a law enforcement procession and burial to follow at the Cisne Cemetery
