Roland Mark Eckiss, age 84, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on July 21, 1937, the son of Willie R. and Bonnie (Humes) Eckiss.
Roland worked for Texaco as a supervisor, and he continued working after Texaco closed until his retirement. He was a member of the Moose and American Legion. He served his country in the United States Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, James Eckiss; an infant sister, Pamela Eckiss; an infant daughter, Karen Eckiss; and one step-daughter, Lisa.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Warner of Sandy, Oregon; one brother, Ben Eckiss of Portland, Oregon; three sisters, Jane Thiry and husband, Walter of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Barbara Kimbrel of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Dianne Angle of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one beloved sister-in-law, Bobbie Eckiss of Las Vegas, Nevada; two granddaughters; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services conducted. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
