The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 12,328 new cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 11 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 18 positive cases Monday. There are 125 active cases with 7 hospitalizations locally. Overall, there have now been 1,975,515 cases of the disease with 27,228 deaths in Illinois since the pandemic began. A total of 18,638,831 vaccinations have been administered at sites across the state since the vaccine rollout began with 2,711,478 booster doses. The IDPH reports that 37.20% of the total Lawrence County population has now been fully vaccinated. 41% have received at least one dose of the vaccine and there have been 1,680 booster doses given out in the county. The LCHD has announced it is moving it’s Friday drive-thru vaccination clinics up 1 day this week and next week due to the holidays. Clinics will be on Thursday December 23rd and on Thursday December 30th at the main office located on U.S. 50 west of Lawrenceville at Country Club Road.
