The Illinois Secretary of States office is again extending the expiration dates for state drivers licenses and I.D. cards for an additional three months. The extension is due to the ongoing pandemic and concerns about overloading drivers facilities across the state with lots of people wanting to renew. The extension does not apply to Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDL). Lawrence County and other area residents are also reminded that some motorists can renew their license online at il.sos.gov.
