The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that there have now been 1,994,056 cases of coronavirus across the state with 27,117 deaths since the pandemic began. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 12 positive cases Friday with 145 cases still active and 5 hospitalizations. A total of 18,475,621 vaccinations have been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. Of Illinois total population, more than 70% have received at least one dose of the vaccine and more than 63% of the Illinois total population is now fully vaccinated according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). They also indicated that 37.12% of the total Lawrence County population is now fully vaccinated. About 41% of the Lawrence County population has had at least 1 dose of the vaccine and there have been 1,626 booster shots given in the county.
